Therapy is for everyone.
Anyone who gets anywhere doesn’t get there alone.
It’s always OKAY to ask for help!
Psychotherapy.
A place where you can explore your thoughts, feelings, and beliefs safely and free from judgment.
Where you can delve into how you move through life with an aim to getting the best out of everyday.
Where you come to a deeper understanding of who you are and make decisions that are in line with your values.
Why therapy is a good option.
Therapists are neutral, meaning they don't have preconceived ideas about who you are or what you should do. They are there to listen to you and help you rediscover yourself!
Therapists are educated. It takes a minimum of 6 years of university to become a therapist and years of practice to become a good one!
Therapists are bound by confidentiality meaning they are required to keep your information safe, private, and protected so you can rest easier as you focus on YOU.
Psychotherapy can help you feel better emotionally, physically, and spiritually.
Many people experience improved clarity and follow-through on goals, healthier and more satisfying relationships, and more confidence.
Therapy is for everyone…
Children
Children can benefit from therapy. Issues can range from bullying, attachment, family relationships, and social skills. Often kids don't have the communication skills to speak about thoughts and feelings, rather, we may see children with behavioural expressions that are concerning. If you notice your child is isolating , showing strong emotional reactions, or having difficulty with sleeping/eating, talk to your child. Let them know it's okay to talk to you, that feelings are normal and that talking to a trusting person can be helpful. Play therapy, art-based strategies, and even talk therapy have all proven helpful to children .
Teens
The teenage years can be a challenge; it is a time that involves more space and independence from parents while still under their care. There are pressures, often competing, from peers, family, and oneself. The demands of school, future career, and relationships can add considerable stress. Ongoing stress, if not managed properly, can lead to symptoms of depression and anxiety. Therapy during this period can support with better awareness, decision-making, better communication and boundary setting, and the skills to bolster confidence a successful future.
Adults
It is never too late to learn new tricks. Adult clients may require assistance in working through the past, processing old feelings, and learning to embrace new and different parts of life. It also involves times of transition that can be stress provoking: Family planning, balancing work/home life, caring for elderly parents, and moving into retirement and later life. Therapy at this stage of life helps with making sense of, making peace with, and deepening awareness to enhance one’s quality of life, one's experiences, and one's choices.
